2019 New Taipei City Wulai Gorge Marathon
 
Let’s run along the gorgeous course in the magnificent Wulai Gorge, comparable to Taroko Gorge, without having to travel far!

●Starting from 4:00 to 8:00 AM on race day, traffic control on Xinwu Road will be imposed. Participants should take the shuttle bus to the event venue.
●If not taking the shuttle bus, participants will be offered discount for assigned accommodation in Wulai area (Please show the shuttle bus/ accommodation voucher to the hotel upon check-in.)

Notice 1. Individual or group registrations need to complete “voluntary participant agreement” on registration site. Please read carefully the race information prior to registration and complete your register by checking the ‘I agree’ checkbox, which means you agree to accept our regulation and terms.
2. Participants must be in their designated corrals (printed on bib) in order to proceed to the starting line.

2. Course:
 
(1) Full Marathon:
Intersection of Xinwu Highway and Entrance of Miaoshin Temple (START) → Pass by Wulai Tourist Bridge → Xinwu Road → Rainbow Bridge → Tai-chu Line (turning point 1) → Rainbow Bridge → Via Wulai Tourist Bridge → Huanshan Road → Wenquan Street → Pubu Road → Xinfu Road → Wu Zhong Creek Waterfall → Fushan No. 1 Bridge (Tranan Bridge) → Ma-an tribe square → Entrance of Shi-long hiking trail (turning point 2) → Warriors Square (FINISH)
(2) Half Marathon:
Intersection of Xinwu Highway and Entrance of Miaoshin Temple (START) → Xinwu Road → Wulai Tourist Bridge → Huanshan Road → Wenquan Street → Pubu Road →Xinfu Road → North 107 County Road (turning point) → Xinfu Road → Pubu Road → Warriors Square (FINISH)

(5) Payment via 7-ELEVEn i-bon kiosk (Max. payment is TWD20,000, handling fee will be charged for each transaction):
(6) You will get the code for i-bon payment after registering on the event website.
(7) Please make sure your payment is done within 3 days after completing online registration. Fail to do the payment in the required length of time or with the right amount will be deemed as failure of the registration process.
(8) Travel insurance (Group insurance): Insurance can be purchased during registration (NT$40 per person).
(9) Check-in in person: International athletes will pick up their race package at the event venue. (Postal fee is also required.)

(10) The first 20 teams that register and make the payment with more than 20 members will be provided a resting tent at the event venue. (All members must be signed up at single registration.) Team names have a maximum length of 7 Chinese characters or 10 English letters. Symbols and abusive language are not allowed. The executive unit reserves the right to make changes to the name of the team.
(11) Please read carefully the following agreements prior to registration. By completing registration, you understand and agree to followings:
 
A. The organizer will include a reusable cup in race package to all participants instead of providing disposable cups at each supply stations.
B. Please select the size of event tank top during registration. Please refer to the size chart provided on the event website.
C. Please bring your ID with you to the race event.

4. Shuttle Bus Service:
 
(1) To avoid traffic disturbance, insure the safety of all passengers, and to reduce the impact of the ecological environment, all participants should walk or take free shuttle bus to the venue. Starting from 4:00 AM on race day, Xinwu Road will be traffic controlled. The organizer takes no responsibility or liability for participants’ tardiness if participants drive to event venue.
(2) Please select your boarding point when register. Once you select your boarding point on registration page, you should board on time according to your race category.
(3) Direct bus to the race venue:
The 1st bus starts boarding at 3:00 AM, May 05, 2019.

(4) Return bus (after race): Depart from Wulai Parking Tower (Please follow staff’s instruction to board the bus.)

(5) Traffic control: From 4:00 to 8:00 AM, May 05, 2019, vehicles are prohibited at the venue and some sections of the race course.
5. Qualification & Age Groups:
 
(1) A signed Letter of Parental Consent is required for participants aged 16~17.
(2) Participants with highly potential health risk (such as heart disease and high blood pressure, etc.…) are not advised to participate, except doctor’s health certificate provided.

6. Awards:
 
(1) Top 10 finishers of males and females in full/half categories will be awarded a commemorative medal.
*Top 10 winners will not be ranked in age groups.

(2) Top 3 finishers of males and females in 9 age groups (listed above) for full/half categories will also be awarded a commemorative medal.
(3) Award Ceremony: Starts at 10:00 AM, May 05, 2019. At the event stage on Wulai Parking Tower Square.
(4) Race results will be announced on the facebook fan page and event website in 2 days after the race. The ranking will be announced after rule violators are removed.
7. Important Notice:
Please read thoroughly through the regulation and information regarding the race.
 
(1) According to IAAF rule No. 165.24, the race shall be started by the gunshot. Runners’ time and limits are based on starting gunshot time.
(2) This race adopts a Race Timing Chip system to record the race results. Participants are required to run through checkpoints by cut off time to finish the race.
(3) Please make sure your race number on the timing chip matches that on the bib.
(4) Attach the racing bib on the front of your race shirt. Please follow the instruction for fastening your timing chip.
(5) Exchanging timing chips, wearing the chip of others or wearing more than 1 chip are prohibited. Violators will be disqualified.
(6) Please start the race on time according to the stipulated start time of your race category. The executive unit reserves the right to stop runners who fail to comply.
(7) Please be sure to follow the traffic official and referee's instructions. Runners without registration are not allowed on the course.
(8) Race staff will take away timing chip or race bib of the runners who fail to finish the race within time limits. The supply stations will be closed once the time is up.
(9) Runners who fail to pass the turning point before control gate closing time must board the bus to return to the event venue. (Full marathon control gate closing time: 10:30 AM; half marathon 8:00 AM.)
(10) Bag deposit for personal belongings: Bag deposit starts at 4:30 AM on race day and closes at 14:00 PM. Runners will receive a number sticker at the bag deposit counter. Please make sure to attach the number to your race bib. Please store all valuable personal belongings in a secure place. The organizer shall not be responsible for the loss of any personal items.
(11) If not taking the shuttle bus, participants will be offered discount for assigned accommodation in Wulai area. (The voucher is for either shuttle bus or accommodation discount.)
 
A. Please show the shuttle bus/ accommodation voucher to the hotel upon check-in. The discount is available for bookings by telephone only. (Booking online and online payment is not applicable.)
B. There is a discount limit to each room; e.g. No more than 4 vouchers can be used on a room for 4 guests.
(12) Please evaluate your own health condition and consult your physician for participating in the race. Once the registration is done and entry fee is paid, no refund can be made. Changing athletes will not be accepted. If any accident happens during the race due to poor physical condition of the runner, the organizer will not be held responsible.
(13) Please rest well before the race (May 04) to be in good condition. If not feeling well during the race, please stop immediately and seek help. Safety first.
(14) No printed certificate will be provided due to environmental concerns.
(15) The organizer reserves the right to publish or broadcast any video, photographs and names or other types of materials recorded at this event for the purpose of reporting and promoting their activities. Participants authorize the organizer to use their portraits and race results in a royalty free manner for the purposes of display, publication, services and advertising. The organizer is also authorized to send email or by other means of communication to contact the participants in order to give information regarding the race.
(16) The organizer reserves the right to change the details of the event, including race course, delaying, canceling, or suspending the race due to inclement weather or other potential safety risks. Any related change will be announced at 6:00 PM on the day prior to the race on the event website.
(17) The information and rules regarding the 2019 New Taipei City Wulai Gorge Marathon are published on November 20, 2018. Any amendment will be updated on the event website.
